I created it as an anniversary gift for my young friends, Amandine and David, who are totally devoted to one another.  They inspired this work, as their love inspires everyone who knows them.

Working from  a photo I took in a Parisian park, I had great fun recreating the fervor of the conversation among these three women.  Hanging in the "coffee-klatch" area of my home, they stimulate both lofty and low "discourse."

A young soldier I met in Atlanta asked me to create something for his wife.  He was being deployed to Afghanistan, and she was terribly worried.
